Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions apply to all pupils, parents, guardians and visitors attending swimming lessons organised by Swim Safe School Ltd.. Please ensure you have read and understood the following and please keep a copy for your records:

1. Acceptance of terms and conditions

By booking or attending a swimming lesson with us you accept these terms and conditions and they will form part of the contract between us. We reserve the right to vary these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.

2. Child Protection

Swim Safe School staff have a duty to act if they suspect a child in their care may be suffering from abuse or if a child makes a disclosure about abuse. In such an event, the member of staff will follow the Child Protection Policy.

3. Complaints

Swim Safe School is fully committed to delivering the highest standards of teaching, coaching and childcare to the local community. If you or your child is not entirely satisfied with the service we provide we would like to hear about it. If we become aware of any problem while you or your child is still attending a course or activity, we will aim to resolve this at an early stage. You can be assured that any complaint will be taken very seriously. In the first instance, the complaint should be made to the Administration / Operations Manager, we will look into the matter and liaise with the course teacher if appropriate.

4. Insurance

All participants are covered by our Public Liability Insurance.

5. Liability

Swim Safe School does not accept liability for sickness, personal injury or death of any participants unless directly caused by the proven negligence of the company or its’ servants. Organisers providing the facility and their servants are under no liability whatsoever in respect of personal injuries, loss or damage to property whilst attending any Swim Safe School course.

6. Swimming Lesson Booking

Payments

  • Rebooking reminders are sent via CoursePro approximately 4 weeks prior to the end of term, and payment can be completed on the homeportal until BEFORE the last lesson of the current term.
  • Any credits on your child’s account will be deducted at the point of sale.
  • Failure to rebook via the homeportal may result in losing your current swim space.
  • If you miss the rebooking period via the homeportal please contact us via email to rebook.
  • Payment must be paid at the time of booking.
  • If you need to pay in installments, please contact us separately to arrange.

Credit

  • No refunds can be given once the term has started.
  • We offer credits for future courses where a child is required to miss lessons due to medical reasons, at our discretion or extenuating circumstances.
  • Subject to the following conditions: Lessons will only be credited from the time we are notified of the absence (we cannot credit for missed lessons we are not notified of the absence or reasons until after the lesson has passed). We must be updated as to the expected length of absence. The amount of credit shall equate to the number of lessons missed, minus one in respect of administration and the keeping open of the space.
  • Credit will be held on your child’s homeportal account and will be automatically deducted at the point of sale on further terms.

Missed Sessions

  • Subject to the above, refunds and credits cannot be given in respect of missed sessions as the same costs are still incurred for both the pool and teacher’s time.
  • Where we are notified of planned absences in advance by email, we are happy to see if we are able to arrange a replacement lesson. Please note that this is not guaranteed, and if lessons are offered not taken then this is by choice and the missed lesson will be forfeited.

7. Pool Closures & Cancellations

In the event of a first pool closure or cancellation during a term, we will offer a replacement lesson, if the replacement lesson doesn’t suit then a credit will be applied to your child’s homeportal account.

Once the term has been paid for, lessons are unable to be refunded for a change of mind or circumstances.

8. Pool Rules

There are a limited number of pool rules that we must enforce in the interests of keeping the pool open and / or health and safety. We reserve the right to remove from the lessons any swimmer and/or their accompanying spectators that do not comply with these rules.

Before lessons:

– all swimmers must be encouraged to use the toilet.

– all swimmers must be dressed in appropriate swimwear, including a swim hat.

During lessons:

– no photographs or videos may be taken of or inside the Pool Hall (and never in the Changing Room) without the PRIOR permission of the swimming teacher and compliance with their instructions which will be aimed at safeguarding everyone within the Pool Hall at the time

Disruptive / Unsafe Behaviour

We ultimately reserve the right to remove from the lessons any swimmer whose behavior is repeatedly disruptive or unsafe.

This agreement, the members rules and all associated rules and regulation of membership, govern the terms and conditions of membership, members use of our clubs and your relationship with Swim Safe School. Please read these documents carefully as they affect your rights and liabilities under the law
